Control Panel Wiring Validation & Fault Diagnosis
Industrial control cabinets across multiple client sites, including packaging, printing and general manufacturing, required pre-energization wiring validation and live fault diagnosis during commissioning and maintenance windows.
Panels arriving from build often had inconsistencies between schematic and physical wiring. Live panels in the field developed intermittent faults, including chattering contactors, dropped sensor signals and tripped overloads, that were costing the customer production time.
Worked panel by panel: cross-checking schematics against terminal wiring, performing voltage, resistance and continuity tests, and tracing control signals from field sensors all the way through to PLC inputs. On live faults, isolated the failing component (contactor coil, overload relay, terminal block or wire) and validated the fix before re-energizing.
Systematic verification, in order: I/O list, schematic, physical wiring, multimeter readings. No re-energization without continuity confirmed and wire numbers matching the drawing. For diagnostics, signal tracing rather than guesswork, confirming voltage at each upstream point before condemning a downstream component.
